Volunteer Toolkit
The Volunteer Toolkit is your official source for delivering easy, fun troop meetings year-round! This fully customizable digital planning tool is accessible on any computer, tablet, or mobile device and provides you with Girl Scout program content, award requirements, and other resources.

Girls have more fun when they can shape their own experience, do hands-on activities, and work together as teams. With the Volunteer Toolkit, take the guess work out of planning and spend more time exploring topics with girls! To access the Volunteer Toolkit, visit your council’s website and click on MyGS.

Volunteer Essentials
With key information, policies, and procedures that support the safe, consistent delivery of Girl Scout programming to girls across your council, Volunteer Essentials is just that—essential. 

Get just about everything you need as a Girl Scout volunteer, including basic facts and forms, as well as tips on planning outdoor activities, managing troop finances, promoting safety, arranging trips, selling cookies, and more. 

Volunteer Essentials is updated annually and the latest version can be found on your council’s website. 

Safety Activity Checkpoints
Every adult in Girl Scouts is responsible for the physical and emotional safety of girls, and we follow these Safety Activity Checkpoints at all times. From archery to hiking, and outdoor cooking to ziplining, get checklists to help everyone stay safe—and have fun! 

Ask your local council for a copy of Safety Activity Checkpoints, or view it in Volunteer Essentials. And encourage your girls to take the Girl Scout Internet Safety Pledge!

Tips for Troop Leaders
When you’re looking for real-world advice from fellow troop leaders who've been there, this volunteer-to-volunteer resource has the tips you need for a successful troop year. 

Exploring the Outdoors

Are your girls excited about going outdoors? Maybe they’d like to get closer to nature, go on a hike, or plan a camping trip? Let’s make it happen!

Thanks to a grant from the Elliott Wildlife Values Project, we’ve created several outdoor skill-building videos just for volunteers, especially those who work with Daisies, Brownies, or Juniors. Watch the videos now.

Choose your own adventure with Venture Out!, a unique resource that makes the outdoor experience more girl-led and offers insight (or refreshers for what volunteers already know) so they feel confident engaging girls in the outdoors.

Girl Scouts and Disaster Recovery

Making the world a better place is just what Girl Scouts do, and when disasters happen, troops are ready to do their part! These resources give tips and examples for engaging girls who want to help.
