Girl Scout alums are ambitious, confident, and prepared to take on life’s challenges.

Leadership: Compared to non-alums, Girl Scout alums are more likely to feel satisfied with their careers, to hold management positions, and to want to have a positive impact on society through their work.

More than three-quarters of Girl Scouts have had leadership experiences through out-of-school time activities (78% versus 55%).

Girl Scout programming has four areas of focus—offering girls a variety of experiences to help them develop the skills they need to change the world.

STEM: Girl Scouts is working to increase the number of women in STEM, where the number of new, high-paying jobs rises dramatically every year.

Compared to non-Girl Scouts, Girl Scouts are more interested in STEM fields (72% vs. 60%) and tech careers (57% vs. 41%).

Outdoors: When girls spend quality time outdoors and increase their exposure to nature, they thrive physically, emotionally, and intellectually.

As Girl Scouts, close to 8 in 10 girls do outdoor activities like hiking and camping, compared to just 43% of non-Girl Scouts.

Life Skills: Girl Scouts are more likely than non-Girl Scouts to exhibit community problem-solving skills (57% vs. 28%).

Entrepreneurship: Through Girl Scouts, girls learn to think like entrepreneurs as they participate in activities that spark their curiosity, build their confidence, and fuel their innovation.

Girl Scouts are twice as likely to have taken part in entrepreneurial activities than other girls.
